Free museums in Valencia
Many of the city's museums are free or have free time slots. The Museo de Bellas Artes (Fine Arts Museum) and the Centre del Carme are always free. The municipal museums and monuments —the City Museum, La Almoina, the Fallas Museum and the Palacio de Cervelló, among others— are free on Sundays and public holidays. The IVAM is free on Sundays, and the MuVIM on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
Days with free entry
Some dates open doors that cost money the rest of the year: on 18 May, International Museum Day, the regional government's museums put on free activities, and the IVAM is also free on 9 October, Valencian Community Day. Specific events for those days show up in the list above as soon as they're announced.
Free doesn't always mean no booking
Many free concerts, workshops and guided tours have limited capacity and ask you to register in advance or collect an invitation. Each event page links to the official source, which says whether you need to book and when booking opens.
