Who was José Segrelles
José Enrique Segrelles Albert (Albaida, Valencia, 1885-1969) is one of the most influential Valencian illustrators in fantasy art worldwide. His work, known for its dreamlike and detailed style, has left an indelible mark on the imagination of illustrators and filmmakers in the genre. This exhibition is a tribute to his career and his contribution to contemporary art.
What’s on display
The exhibition features 155 original paintings, of which 60 are previously unseen, selected from the best of his work. The fantasy themes for which Segrelles is internationally recognised take centre stage. The pieces showcase his ability to create imaginative worlds and his mastery of colour and composition.

The exhibition can be visited in the Sala Dormitorio at Centre del Carme until 10 January 2027. No specific opening hours are provided, but entry is free and no prior booking is required.
