Valencia taxi fares 2026
In 2026 a taxi in Valencia charges a €2.00 flag fall and €1.36 per kilometre on working days from 7:00 to 21:00 (fare 1), and €2.60 and €1.48 per kilometre at night, on Saturdays and on public holidays (fare 2). Trips from the airport add €5.40 and cost at least €12.50. These are the official fares set by the Valencian regional government for the 42 towns of the Valencia taxi area.
How much does a taxi cost in Valencia?
The meter sets the price: the flag fall when you get in, the kilometres driven and the waiting time, which is charged by the hour. These are the maximum amounts in force since 30 December 2025, published in the official gazette of the Valencian government (DOGV):
| Charge | Fare 1Working days, 7:00–21:00 | Fare 2Nights, Saturdays and holidays |
|---|---|---|
| Flag fall | €2.00 | €2.60 |
| Per kilometre | €1.36 | €1.48 |
| Waiting, per hour | €24.95 | €28.70 |
| Minimum fare | €4.95 | €7.20 |
The minimum fare depends on the time of day, not on the fare: from 7:00 to 21:00 it is the daytime one, even on a Saturday or holiday. From the airport the minimum is €12.50.

When does fare 1 apply, and when fare 2?
- Fare 1: working days, from 7:00 to 21:00.
- Fare 2: from 21:00 to 7:00 on any day, and all day on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
- 15, 16, 17, 18 and 19 March (Fallas) and 24 and 31 December count as public holidays.
- The light on the roof and the meter always show which fare is being charged.
Surcharges and minimum fare
The rules allow only three surcharges. There is no charge for luggage.
- Trips starting at Manises airport: €5.40.
- Trips starting at the cruise terminal, Transmediterránea or Feria Valencia taxi ranks: €2.95.
- Fallas nights (15 to 19 March) and the nights of 24 and 31 December, from 21:00 to 7:00: €3.00.
- Minimum fare: €4.95 from 7:00 to 21:00 and €7.20 from 21:00 to 7:00; from the airport, €12.50 including the surcharge. If the meter shows less, you pay the minimum and nothing else.
How much is a taxi from Valencia airport to the city centre?
The taxi rank is outside the arrivals terminal. It is about 11 to 12 km by road to Plaza del Ayuntamiento and, in normal traffic, the meter shows between €22 and €28 on a working day and between €24 and €30 at night or on a holiday, including the €5.40 surcharge. There is no fixed fare to the centre: the meter is mandatory, so pay what it shows and ask for the receipt. The trip back to the airport is cheaper because it carries no surcharge.
Card payment, change and receipt
- Every taxi in the area carries a card reader for debit and credit cards.
- The driver must give change for up to €20, or up to €50 if the fare is over €20.
- Ask for the receipt: the meter prints it with the price, origin and destination, fare applied and licence number.
- If you book by phone or app, the meter runs from when the taxi sets off to fetch you, but it cannot show more than €5.00 when it picks you up (€8.10 in outlying areas such as El Palmar or San Isidro de Benagéber).
