What's the best way to get from the airport to the centre?

For almost everyone, the metro. It's direct, unaffected by traffic and runs every few minutes. A taxi makes sense for three or four people with luggage, late at night or if your accommodation is far from a station. MetroBús 150 is only worth it if your destination is right next to one of its stops.

How do I take the metro at the airport?

Aeroport station is beneath the terminal: follow the metro signs from the arrivals area and go down by escalator or lift. In the hall there are ticket machines (with a choice of languages) where you buy the card and the ticket. You can pay by bank card or cash.

Both lines, 3 (towards Rafelbunyol) and 5 (towards Marítim), follow the same route into the centre, so you can take the first train that arrives. On weekdays they run very frequently; at weekends each line leaves every 20 minutes. The official, up-to-date timetable is further down.

• Xàtiva: next to Estació del Nord and the bullring, a short walk from Plaza del Ayuntamiento.
• Colón: the most central stop for shopping and the Eixample district.
• Àngel Guimerà: to change to lines 1 and 2.
• Alameda (L5 only): near the Turia gardens and about a 20-minute walk from the City of Arts and Sciences.

Journeys to the airport carry a zone supplement: a zone A SUMA 10 won't let you out at Aeroport. If you already have one, buy a separate single for that journey.

What time is the first and last metro from the airport?

How much is the airport metro and which ticket should I buy?

The airport is in fare zone "AB+", so a single costs more than within the city. The cardboard card is reusable: keep it for the rest of your trip.

Up to 15 people travelling together can validate with the same SUMA 10: one card for the whole family.

Is there a bus from the airport to Valencia city centre?

Yes, MetroBús line 150. It stops at Terminal 1, ground floor, right outside arrivals. It runs through Manises, Quart de Poblet and Mislata and, once in Valencia, stops at Ángel Guimerà, the Central Market (Avenida del Oeste) and Avenida de Ramón y Cajal. It takes much longer than the metro because of traffic and runs less often, so it's only worth it if your accommodation is next to one of those stops. The Valencia–airport fare is the same as the metro (€4.80).

How much is a taxi from the airport to the centre?

The taxi rank is outside the arrivals terminal. Valencia taxis charge the official regional tariff: €2.00 flag fall and €1.36 per kilometre by day (€2.60 and €1.48/km at night and on public holidays), plus a €5.40 airport pickup supplement. No journey from the airport can cost less than €12.50.

At those rates, a ride to the centre costs €20–30 depending on the time, traffic and exact address. The price is per vehicle, not per person: from three travellers it usually beats the metro.

Check the meter starts when you get in. If you want to pay by card, say so when you get in: most taxis accept it.

What if my flight lands in the middle of the night?

The first metro leaves the airport at 5:27 on weekdays and 7:07 on Sundays and public holidays. At night, regular service ends before midnight except on nights with extended hours. If you land outside those hours, the practical choice is a taxi or ride-hailing app. Check the official timetable in the table above, as Metrovalencia extends service on key dates (Fallas, New Year's Eve).

How early should I leave for the airport?

From the centre, the metro takes about 25 minutes and drops you inside the terminal. For a European flight, leave at least two hours before take-off; in summer and on long weekends, when security queues grow, allow two and a half hours.
