Special Section

Fallas of the Special Section

The Special Section is the top category of the fallas contest: it is where Valencia's biggest monuments compete. Here are the Special Section fallas, big and children's, with their motto, artist and sketch, and a link to each one on the map to plan your route.

The children's Special Section, with the groups' monuments for the youngest.

When are the Special Section prizes awarded?

In 2027 the jury tours the big fallas on Tuesday 16 March and reads out the prizes that same day; the prize-giving is on Wednesday 17th in Plaza del Ayuntamiento. The children's prizes are given on the afternoon of the 16th. On the night of the 19th, the falla with the Special Section first prize burns at 22:30, half an hour after the rest, and the winning children's falla at 20:30.

How to see the Special Section fallas

Open any of them on the map to see where it is, which other fallas are nearby and how to get there. During the big week the centre is closed to traffic: walking and the metro are best.
