What data we process
ConoceValencia is a free, informational website about transport, events and Fallas in Valencia. You can use it anonymously; we only process personal data if you create an account, save favourites or send us a message. We do not sell or share your personal data.
User accounts and favourites
Registration is optional and lets you save your favourite lines, stops, stations and events and sync them across devices. If you create an account we process:
- Account data: your name, your email address and whether you have verified it.
- Password: stored encrypted (hashed), never in plain text. If you sign in with Google, we do not process any password.
- Sign in with Google (optional): your Google account identifier and the tokens needed to authenticate you.
- Profile picture: only if provided by your sign-in provider (for example, Google).
- Sessions: to keep you signed in securely we record the associated IP address and browser (user-agent).
- Favourites: the bus lines, stops, Valenbisi stations and events you mark as favourites, linked to your account.
Feedback panel
The site includes a panel to send us suggestions or report problems. When you use it we process:
- The message you write and its type (suggestion, problem or other).
- Your email address, only if you provide it so we can reply (it is optional); if you are signed in, it is linked to your account.
- Context data to reproduce and understand the report: the page you write from, the language, the IP address and the browser (user-agent).
- The purpose is to handle your message and improve the service. The legal basis is your consent when submitting it and our legitimate interest in improving the site and preventing abuse.
Browsing and technical data
- Like any website, our hosting provider may log technical connection data (such as the IP address, browser type or date and time) for security and operation.
- If you write to us by email, we will process the data you provide solely to reply to you.
Advertising and Google AdSense cookies
This site shows ads through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and device identifiers to show and measure ads, including personalised advertising based on your previous browsing. We manage your consent through a consent management platform (CMP): you can accept, reject or review your choice at any time via “Manage cookies” in the footer.
Usage analytics
We may use Google Analytics via Google Tag Manager to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used. We apply Google Consent Mode (denied by default): non-essential analytics and advertising cookies only run if you give your consent.
Providers and third parties
To run the service we work with providers acting as data processors:
- Vercel Inc.: site hosting; may process technical data in the United States and other countries.
- Neon Inc.: the database where accounts, favourites and feedback messages are stored.
- Resend: sending account emails (verification, password reset) and internal feedback notifications.
- Google (Google Ireland Ltd. / Google LLC): AdSense and its cookies, Google Analytics/Tag Manager, sign in with Google, Google Maps (to locate places) and the cookie consent platform.
- OpenFreeMap: tile server loaded when maps are displayed; when requesting tiles it may receive your IP address.
- Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area; in that case, appropriate safeguards apply (for example, standard contractual clauses).
Legal basis and retention
The legal bases are: providing the service and managing your account (contractual relationship); your consent for non-essential advertising and analytics cookies and for handling your feedback; and our legitimate interest in maintaining, protecting and improving the service and preventing abuse.
We keep your account data and favourites while your account is active; if you delete it, they are erased or anonymised except for what we must keep by legal obligation. Feedback messages and technical data are kept for as long as needed for their purposes and according to each provider's periods.
Your rights
You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability by writing to contacto@conocevalencia.es. If you have an account, you can also edit your data or close your account from your profile. You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time and to lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es).
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect legal or service changes. We will always publish the current version on this page, together with its last-updated date.
