What the workshop explores
«Oh! A Storytelling Experience for Curious Families» is a workshop at IVAM inviting children aged 6 to 10 to discover illustrated albums from the IVAM Moguda! family library. Each session revolves around an open question—on 1 November 2026, «Contes d’amor i por»—and combines storytelling, play, and collective reflection. According to the museum, the goal is to "play with slow looking and shared thinking" to explore themes like emotions, identity, and coexistence through the pages.
Who leads the activity
The sessions are led by storyteller Elisa M. Matallín, a cultural mediator and puppeteer with over 30 years of experience. A graduate in Library Science and specialised in artistic education from the Universitat de València, Matallín has designed similar projects for museums and libraries, focusing on bringing art closer to children and young audiences. In this workshop, her pedagogical approach prioritises active family participation.
Who it’s for and what’s included
Aimed at families with children aged 6 to 10, the workshop is offered in Valencian or Spanish, depending on the date. Admission includes access to the activity and materials (illustrated albums from the IVAM Moguda! library) but does not cover entry to the museum’s permanent exhibitions. No prior registration is required, though capacity is limited.
Programme and dates
The cycle runs from 11 January to 1 November 2026, with monthly sessions exploring themes like family, the city, poetry, and diversity. The session on 1 November—in Valencian—focuses on «Contes d’amor i por», stories blending suspense and laughter to discuss complex emotions with the youngest participants.
