A tribute to Erik Satie with puppets and shadows
The Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía pays tribute to the French composer Erik Satie on the centenary of his death with Erik Satie and the Closed Room, a family-friendly show combining puppets, shadows, and objects to recreate his life and work. From 15 to 21 November 2026, at 12:00 PM, the Aula Magistral will transform into a space where the everyday and the dreamlike intertwine, reflecting Satie’s unique universe.
The production, created for the 2026-2027 season, uses visual theatre techniques and live music to immerse the audience in a sensory journey. Through scenes evoking a room frozen in time, the show explores the composer’s figure, known for his eccentricity and influence on modern music.
