Who’s performing
Maria Faubel, a singer-songwriter from Llíria trained in Percussion at the Valencia Conservatory, presents a solo concert as part of the «Amb veu de Dona» cycle. Her musical project, defined as cançó d’autor, blends voice, guitar, and intimate lyrics exploring memory, identity, and everyday life. Faubel released her debut full-length album, Cançons de rebost, in 2025, which earned the Enderrock Critics’ Award for Best Singer-Songwriter Album that same year. Her style, described as delicate and personal, encourages slowing down and connecting with universal emotions through simple melodies and metaphors.
What the concert includes
Maria Faubel’s recital at OCCC is part of the sixth edition of the «Amb veu de Dona» cycle, organised by Acció Cultural del País Valencià. Running from September to December 2026, this project brings together six female artists with diverse musical styles—from folk to electronic—to showcase musical creation in Catalan. Faubel’s concert, scheduled for 13 November at 19:30, will take place in the Sala d’actes at OCCC, with doors opening at 19:00. Entry is free, though booking a ticket via the OCCC website is recommended.
Programme and style
Faubel will perform songs from her album Cançons de rebost, a work praised by critics for its ability to restore calm through a repertoire that balances the everyday and the profound. Her lyrics, rich in poetic imagery, tackle themes like belonging, the passage of time, and personal stories, always from an intimate and relatable perspective. The instrumentation, limited to voice and guitar, reinforces the acoustic and minimalist essence of her project, avoiding excess but with a polished production that enhances the expressiveness of her performance.
