The Octubre Centre de Cultura Contemporània occupies the former El Siglo Valenciano department store on Carrer de Sant Ferran, bought by Acció Cultural del País Valencià in 2004 and opened to the public in 2006 as its headquarters. Neon numerals on the façade point to dates in Valencian history. It programmes book launches, lectures, screenings and small-format concerts, almost always in Valencian.
