What is Les Reines de Samba
Les Reines de Samba is a regular samba workshop held at Centre Cultural La Reina 121 in the Cabanyal-Canyamelar neighbourhood. Led by Rachael Wong, the workshop aims to build community through rhythm, movement, and female empowerment. Each session offers an opportunity to connect with other participants, explore body expression, and enjoy music in a welcoming and engaging environment.
Who can participate
The workshop is open to women aged 18 and over. No prior dance or samba experience is required: according to the centre’s programme, it is designed for anyone to join, regardless of their level. Registration is free and can be done via email (cclareina121@gmail.com) until capacity is reached.
Schedule and sessions
Les Reines de Samba consists of 8 sessions, taking place on 8, 15, 22, and 29 September 2026, always at 19:30. The workshop is part of the centre’s regular programme, which includes other activities such as Dancing Queen or ImproSàvies, all free to attend and focused on encouraging local participation.
Access and requirements
Entry is free, but advance registration via email (cclareina121@gmail.com) is required. Capacity is limited, so booking a place in advance is recommended. The centre, managed by Pro21cultural, is a municipal space refurbished in 2024 to serve as a local cultural hub, open to the neighbourhood and citizen engagement.
