What P.O.V. is about
P.O.V. is a performative piece created and performed by Núria Guiu that examines the act of looking: who observes, how they observe, and what effects that gaze has on bodies. The work blends word, image, and stage presence to analyse how language—both visual and discursive—shapes perceptions, classifications, and power dynamics. Set against a social backdrop of image saturation and self-demand, the performance addresses the tension between societal expectations and individual reality.
The scenic proposal is structured as a hybrid device between thinking aloud, critical exposition, and performative action. Through gestures, postures, and presence, Núria Guiu questions the divide between saying and doing, between explaining and performing.
Who’s performing
Núria Guiu, dancer and anthropologist, is the creator and performer of P.O.V.. Her work starts from the body as a site of knowledge production, not merely as a vehicle for discourse. The piece incorporates a visual archive on hysteria and other social narratives that have influenced the perception of the body, particularly in historical and cultural contexts.
Schedule and duration
P.O.V. will be performed on 24 October 2026 at 19:30 at La Mutant. Based on Núria Guiu’s previous works, the approximate duration is 60 minutes.
