What is Terra de Cítrics
Terra de Cítrics is an autumn gastronomic experience within Valencia Cuina Oberta, created to celebrate the start of the citrus season and showcase the citrus fruits of the Comunitat Valenciana and the people who grow them. Held at El Celler de PROAVA, a 13th-century heritage space in the heart of Valencia, it combines history, territory and tasting. During the activity, the work of PROAVA’s associated producers is presented, and creations where citrus is the main ingredient are sampled.
What’s included in the ticket
The Terra de Cítrics ticket includes a guided tour of the 13th-century cellar with an introduction to PROAVA and Valencia’s citrus tradition, followed by a tasting journey in stages:
- Welcome aperitif with citrus vermouth.
- Fresh tasting of seasonal mandarin, Clemenules variety, with an aromatic game to discover its nuances.
- Pairing 1: Tarongino wine with citrus-cured fish and marmalade.
- Pairing 2: Bread with extra virgin olive oil flavoured with citrus from Agrisanz and orange and turmeric juice from La Imperfecta.
- Pairing 3: Mistela with orange strips dipped in Nutxes chocolate.
Sessions
Terra de Cítrics is scheduled in three sessions between 11 and 15 November 2026, with morning and afternoon slots. It’s an experience designed for those who want to learn about local produce and taste it at the peak of the season.
