What is Esports al Barri
Esports al Barri is a programme by the Fundación Deportiva Municipal that has been bringing sports activities to Valencia’s neighbourhoods since 2020. The aim is to promote sport and a healthy lifestyle among all residents, with a special focus on family and community participation. Each edition sets up sports spaces in parks and green areas so anyone can join without prior registration.
Activities and participants
At the Benimàmet event, the programme will include:
- Fun runs: races adapted to different ages and levels, from schoolchildren to adults.
- Participatory activities: workshops and group dynamics to encourage physical activity.
- Events for all ages: no access restrictions, though some activities may be specifically aimed at children or young people.
There is no fixed list of disciplines, but previous editions have featured athletics, traditional games, and skill circuits. Entry is free, and no specific equipment is required—just comfortable clothing.
Schedule and organisation
The event will take place at the Instalación Deportiva Elemental Parque Lineal de Benimàmet, located near the intersection with Calle Arquitecto Gilabert. Activities will start at 11:00 AM and finish around 1:00 PM, following Esports al Barri’s usual schedule. There are no afternoon sessions.
The event is organised by the Fundación Deportiva Municipal, which will set up a main stage and designated areas for each activity. No registration or bib collection is needed—just show up and join the activity that interests you most.
