What is the Open de Taekwondo de la Comunitat Valenciana
The XIV Open de Taekwondo de la Comunitat Valenciana is a national competition featuring over 1,400 athletes from 100 clubs. In its 14th edition, the event takes place at Pavelló Font de Sant Lluís, transformed into a vast tatami for four days. Participants of all ages and levels compete in over 100 categories, from school to senior, in a format that blends high performance, training, and sporting spectacle.
Who is taking part
The event features Joel González, gold medallist at the London 2012 Olympics and bronze at Rio 2016, as ambassador. Athletes representing clubs from across Spain will compete in categories ranging from under-12 to senior, showcasing their technique and skill in a competitive yet friendly atmosphere.
Schedule and duration
The Open runs from 9 to 12 October, with uninterrupted sessions over the four days. Competitions start early in the morning and continue until late afternoon or evening, with breaks for medal ceremonies and side activities. Each day focuses on different categories and elimination rounds, culminating in the finals of the most prominent events.
Access and requirements
The event is open to the public and entry is free. No prior registration is required for spectators. However, participating athletes must be federated and represent a registered club.
