What is the Open de Taekwondo de la Comunitat Valenciana
The XIV Open de Taekwondo de la Comunitat Valenciana is a national competition turning the Pavelló Font de Sant Lluís into a vast tatami for four days. Organised by the Federación de Taekwondo de la Comunitat Valenciana, this event gathers over 1,400 athletes from 100 clubs, competing in 100 different categories. The 2026 edition features an exceptional ambassador: Joel González, double Olympic medallist (gold in London 2012 and bronze in Rio 2016).
Schedule and participants
The competition runs from 9 to 12 October, with uninterrupted sessions from early morning until late afternoon. Athletes of all ages will take part, from school categories to senior levels, in a format combining high-level competition, training, and entertainment. The event is open to the public, with free entry—no tickets are required to attend as a spectator.
Opening hours and access
The pavilion will remain open throughout the four days, with activities scheduled from 9:00 to 20:00, though timings may vary depending on rounds and categories. There are no age restrictions for spectators, and no prior registration is needed to attend. The venue is fully accessible for people with reduced mobility.
A benchmark in national taekwondo
This edition cements Valencia as the taekwondo capital for four days, attracting clubs and athletes from across Spain. Beyond the competition, the event includes demonstrations, workshops, and parallel activities to promote the sport. The Open de Taekwondo de la Comunitat Valenciana is a must-attend for martial arts and sports enthusiasts.
