What is «Enquadrar el barri»
«Enquadrar el barri» is an artistic workshop that turns a walk through Cabanyal into an experience of observation and creation. Led by Alba Suay and Carmen Lluesma, the project invites participants to see the everyday with fresh eyes: through drawing, they will explore sensations, rhythms, and the shared memory of the urban landscape. The activity culminates in a workshop space to share the resulting works.
Who can take part
The workshop is open to anyone aged 16 or over and is free. Places are limited, so advance registration is required by emailing cclareina121@gmail.com until all places are filled. According to the centre, the activity is part of its community cultural model, designed to encourage local participation.
A neighbourhood cultural centre
Centre Cultural La Reina 121, managed by Pro21cultural under a community model, opened in May 2024 after the building was refurbished by Arkítera studio. Located in a protected building in Cabanyal, the space combines exhibitions, workshops, and community activities with the aim of “creating culture with the neighbourhood,” as described by Valencia City Council. Its programme includes theatre, music, dance, and book clubs, all with free access.
