What the exhibition shows
«Comercios e oficios históricos de los Poblats Marítims», curated by José Enrique Segrelles Cortina, features photographs of the businesses and professions that have shaped Valencia’s maritime district. The exhibition includes historical objects—tools, utensils, and documents—that illustrate the daily lives of fishermen, ship carpenters, shopkeepers, and artisans, and their role in shaping the identity of El Cabanyal and its community. The project contrasts globalisation with the preservation of local cultural heritage, as highlighted in the Centre Cultural Escorxador’s agenda.
Who can visit
The exhibition is open to all audiences and free to enter. No prior booking is required—simply visit the centre during opening hours. The Escorxador, located in the heart of the Poblats Marítims, also hosts other free cultural activities in 2026, including workshops, concerts, and storytelling sessions, as per its official programme.
Dates and opening hours
The exhibition runs from 13 November to 31 October 2026. The Centre Cultural Escorxador’s opening hours can be checked on its agenda, though exhibitions are typically accessible during the centre’s usual hours (mornings and afternoons, closed on Sunday afternoons).
