What the exhibition proposes
«Un mundo turbiamente vivo» by Regina de Miguel is an artistic project that speculates on a failed extraplanetary museum, the Museo de Tornus, created in a future where cultural institutions have lost their meaning. The exhibition is divided into two parts:
- Telluric Archive of Tornus: an installation simulating an artificial swamp where drawings, sculptures, waste, and geological elements from fictional archives blend together. According to IVAM, these objects explore pollution, the incompleteness of historical narratives, and the complicity of museums with colonial and military power structures.
- Audiovisual essay: the piece «Aguas intoxicadas, cometas nunca más vistos, una reunión de suicidas» (2026), shot in 4K, follows a scientist trapped in a pandemic. Through settings like the Arecibo Observatory (Puerto Rico), coral farms, and swamps, the video addresses ecological guilt, data saturation, and the difficulty of imagining livable futures. The artist describes it as a reflection on how power—military, economic, and scientific—renders certain territories and bodies uninhabitable.
