What’s on stage
El perfume del tiempo is a play that explores memory, truth, and lies within the context of Argentina’s military dictatorship (1976–1983). The plot follows Héctor Kessler, a retired military doctor who spends his time crafting homemade perfumes, and Sofía Timmerman, a member of the Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo searching for children stolen during those years. Their seemingly disconnected stories ultimately converge in a narrative about how the past shapes the present. The play is part of the Tetralogía de la Memoria, a cycle that includes Shakespeare en Berlín (2016), La invasión de los bárbaros (2019), and Epílogo (2026).
Cast
The play features a cast of four actors:
- Juan Carlos Garés (Héctor Kessler).
- Iria Márquez.
- Marisa Lahoz (Sofía Timmerman).

The script and direction are by Chema Cardeña, and the production is by Arden Producciones, a Valencian company with a long history in the performing arts.
