Wushu and art: a unique experience
On 16 December 2026, Espai LaGranja in Burjassot will host the workshop «Uso de las energías en el Wushu y una posible transcripción al carboncillo», led by Javier Torres Gisbert. This activity blends the practice of wushu—a Chinese martial art focused on the flow of internal energies—with drawing, using charcoal to capture the intensity and direction of movements. An innovative proposal inviting participants to explore the connection between body, energy, and artistic expression.
What does the workshop involve?
The session is structured in two parts:
- Wushu practice: Concepts such as qi (vital energy), jing (essence), and shen (spirit), fundamental in Chinese tradition, will be explored. Torres Gisbert will guide exercises to perceive and channel these energies through movement.
- Charcoal transcription: Participants will experiment with translating these energies into strokes on paper, creating images that reflect bodily dynamics. No prior experience in martial arts or drawing is required.
