A faithful revisit of the classic
The Aalto Ballet de Essen brings its production of Swan Lake to Valencia, one of the most iconic works in the classical ballet repertoire. Choreographed by Ben Van Cauwenbergh—former principal dancer with the English National Ballet alongside Rudolf Nureyev—this version captures the essence of Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov’s original, blending tradition with subtle contemporary dance elements. The production, which has toured international stages to critical acclaim, stands out for its elegance and deep respect for Tchaikovsky’s legacy.
The music will be performed live by the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana, with a production that includes set and costume design by Dorin Gal, lighting by Berndt Hagemeyer, and video projections by Valeria Lampadova. A staging that enhances the dreamlike and dramatic atmosphere of the ballet.
