What is being presented
«Un entre deu» is the memoir of Vicent Soler, tracing half a century of social transformations, from the bleakness of the Franco dictatorship to the present day. The author recounts these events through his personal experiences, offering a first-person testimonial that, according to the synopsis, aims to provoke reflection among younger generations: showing that social change is never easy and that all achievements can be reversed.
The full title of the edition is «Un entre deu. Cinquanta anys de memòries i esperances» and is published by Editorial Afers.
Why it is titled «Un entre deu»
The title of Vicent Soler’s memoirs refers to the «deu d'Alaquàs»: ten anti-Franco activists, including the author, arrested fifty years ago in this town in l'Horta Sud for demanding the recovery of Valencian self-governance alongside democratic freedoms in Spain. This episode opens the narrative.
