What the encounter offers
Trobades en sala: Regina de Miguel dialoga con el público is a guided tour led by the artist herself through her exhibition «Un mundo turbiamente vivo», which transforms the IVAM gallery into a fictional museum called Museo de Tornus. This off-world archive, created after the failure of a space utopia, collects residues, geological data, and an audiovisual essay featuring a scientist during a pandemic. The project invites reflection on pollution, ecological guilt, information overload, and the challenge of imagining alternative futures, drawing from real landscapes like those of Puerto Rico.
How the activity unfolds
The event, organised by IVAM the day after the exhibition’s opening, aims to activate the gallery space and bring Regina de Miguel’s work closer to the public. During the session, the artist will guide a group tour of her pieces, encouraging direct dialogue about the ideas behind her work. It’s not a lecture but a collective experience to inhabit the exhibition space with curiosity and wonder, as described by the museum.
Exhibition context
«Un mundo turbiamente vivo» will be on display at IVAM from October 2026 to April 2027. The exhibition, defined as an immersive installation, blends contemporary art and science fiction to question humanity’s footprint on the planet. Regina de Miguel (Málaga, 1977) is known for her interdisciplinary approach, tackling themes such as the climate crisis, technology, and postcolonial narratives through videos, sculptures, and archives.
Access and requirements
The activity is free and does not require prior registration, though capacity is limited by the gallery’s size. For more details on opening hours and access conditions, check the IVAM (Institut Valencià d’Art Modern) venue page.
