Ramon Gener and the secrets of La clemenza di Tito
Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía will host a free lecture by Ramon Gener on 14 January 2027, the music populariser who has brought opera closer to thousands of people. The event, starting at 19:30 in the Aula Magistral, will focus on La clemenza di Tito, the opera by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart that will premiere in the Main Hall of the venue from 21 to 31 January.
This talk is part of the lecture series Gener offers at Les Arts to unpack the keys to the operas programmed each season. On this occasion, the populariser will analyse the historical context, characters, and central themes of the work, composed in 1791 at the request of Leopold II of Austria for his coronation as King of Bohemia. La clemenza di Tito is a political drama exploring forgiveness, betrayal, and power, set in ancient Rome.
