What is the Laboratori de Dramatúrgia Insula Dramataria
The IX Laboratori de Dramatúrgia Insula Dramataria Josep Lluís Sirera is a project by the Institut Valencià de Cultura (IVC) to promote Valencian playwriting. Since 2018, it has brought together 37 emerging authors in a creative space combining workshops, meetings with professionals, and dramatised readings of their works. The goal is to combat creative isolation and foster living dramaturgy, integrating authors into a collective process.
Programme and plays
The lab presents four unpublished plays by Valencian authors, each with two performances in December 2026:
- 9 and 10 December: Tot comença quan s’il·lumina la pantalla, by Vicent Francés.
- 12 and 13 December: Eixam. Una comèdia caníbal, by Jacobo Julio Roger.
- 16 and 17 December: Agosto Atroz, by Victoria Enguídanos.
- 19 and 20 December: Nemo, by Julia Suay.
Sessions start at 7:00 PM and are recommended for audiences aged 15 and over, according to the IVC.
Prices and access
Tickets cost €3 and grant access to one performance. The lab is part of the IVC’s suport a la creació local programme, so the price is symbolic. It is not specified whether tickets are nominal or refundable.
