What the exhibition proposes
'Hervidero' is an artistic and ethnographic project by Andrea Pont that uses photographic archives and installation to reflect on collective memory and territorial identity. The work focuses on Valencia as an urban ecosystem, transforming everyday images—linked to personal and family histories—into a visual narrative that reconstructs the city’s evolution. Through associations and placements of photographs, the exhibition invites an archaeological reading of the social and spatial transformations that have shaped the territory.
A visual poem about the city
The artistic proposal unfolds as a vast visual poem, where images not only document but also generate new connections and meanings. Pont explores how the individual—family photographs, personal memories—intertwines with the collective, becoming an essential gear for understanding the societies that develop within a territory. The installation aims to provoke reflection on the role of images in constructing urban memory and their ability to reveal hidden layers of Valencian identity.
