What the lecture explores
The lecture «La mirada dialéctica. Hegel con Žižek» proposes a dialogue between two ways of understanding contradiction and conflict in contemporary philosophy. According to the organisers, the session draws on the book of the same name published by Editorial Universidad de Granada to explore how Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel’s dialectical system—centred on overcoming oppositions—clashes with and is enriched by Slavoj Žižek’s radical and destabilising reading. The event aims to challenge certainties on topics such as ideology, freedom, and history, using conceptual tools from both authors.
Who leads the session
Berta M. Pérez, a professor at the Department of Philosophy of the Universitat de València, guides the lecture. Her approach, according to sources, combines academic rigour with a critical perspective on how these theories address current issues, from politics to culture. The talk is part of the tenth session of the Ciclo Ramon Llull de Arte y Pensamiento, a programme that since 2026 has linked philosophy, art, and public debate at the bookshop.
Timing and access
The session will take place on 20 November 2026, from 19:00 to 20:30, at the bookshop’s venue (Carrer de la Corona, 5). Entry is free, but booking is recommended via the Llibreria Ramon Llull website, where other cycle activities are also detailed.
