The «Dissenya el teu taulell» workshop at Museu Ceràmica in Valencia teaches families with children aged 6+ the traditional technique of Valencian tiles from the 18th-19th centuries. Includes a guided tour of the galleries and creating a clay tile inspired by museum pieces. Free with prior booking.

What you’ll do in the workshop

The «Dissenya el teu taulell» workshop teaches families how tile panels were created to decorate Valencian floors, walls, and kitchens in the 18th and 19th centuries. The activity starts with a guided tour of the Museu Ceràmica galleries, where you’ll see historical examples of these panels, including the museum’s Valencian kitchen. Afterwards, each participant decorates a clay tile inspired by traditional designs or their own creativity.

Who it’s for

The activity is aimed at families with children aged 6 and up, always accompanied by an adult. According to the museum, it’s a chance for younger visitors to discover Valencian ceramic heritage in a hands-on, engaging way.

Schedule and booking

The workshop is free, but advance booking is required by emailing mncas@galipat.es. The museum allows groups of up to 25 people, and booking is mandatory for groups of 8 or more. Exhibition galleries may have access restrictions due to staff shortages, so it’s recommended to confirm availability when booking.
