Who’s performing
Clara Gorrias is a Menorcan singer, composer, and educator trained in Jazz Vocal Performance at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya. Her career spans performance, composition, and arrangements, with two published albums: La mar fa riure i fa plorar (2018), an intimate work connected to the island of Menorca, and Sweet Sweet Sweet (2021), recorded with musician Àlex Dee and a large ensemble from the Barcelona scene. In the latter, Gorrias explores jazz, soul, and other influences from Black music, expanding her sound into more urban and contemporary territories. According to Acció Cultural del País Valencià, her concert at OCCC is part of the sixth edition of the Amb veu de dona cycle, which aims to highlight female creators in music in Valencian and Catalan.
