What is Versos Solidarios
Versos Solidarios is a benefit poetry and music recital reaching its tenth edition on Wednesday, 4 November at La Casa de Patraix. The organisers frame it as an evening to collectively respond to the precarity and violence that isolate many people.
Proceeds go to the Solidarity and Struggle Platform for people from the Formula One circuit. In Valencia’s former urban Formula One circuit, numerous individuals face housing racism, impoverishment, eviction threats, and climate and health emergencies. Among them, they organise to secure tarpaulins, pallets, bottled water, or medicines, and the recital aims to provide financial support to this network.
Who’s performing
The Versos Solidarios lineup features six poets and a concert by Las Chichas. All artists participate on a voluntary basis. The evening closes with an open mic: to sign up, simply message the organisers or, if slots remain, register directly at the event.
Prices and donations
At Versos Solidarios, the entry price is the cost of a drink, which covers the venue’s expenses. Additionally, those who wish and can may contribute to the resistance fund in cash or via Bizum, and there will be second-hand book sales with all proceeds going to the cause. Those unable to attend but wishing to donate can contact the organisers by message.
Check how to get there on the La Casa de Patraix venue page.
