A journey between the Golden Age and the present
On 27 November 2026, L'Auditori de Torrent premieres Vanitas Cervantes, a scenic concert reinterpreting the work of Miguel de Cervantes through Baroque music and theatre. Under the stage direction of Luis Luque and musical direction of Carles Magraner, the show brings together actor Fran Perea and Capella de Ministrers, a Valencian ensemble specialising in early music. The production explores the connections between Cervantes, Alonso Quijano, and Don Quixote in a hall of mirrors where words, music, and performance merge into a contemporary experience.
The dramaturgy is by Ignacio García, while soprano Beatriz Lafont and instrumentalists John Wasserman (vihuela and archlute) and Carles Magraner (viola da gamba) complete the cast, delivering the authentic sounds of the Baroque period.
