What will be performed
The concert "Tres siglos de sonatas para piano" presents three key works from the piano repertoire, selected to showcase the evolution of the genre from the Classical period to the 20th century. The programme includes Sonata in C major, Hob XVI: 35 by Joseph Haydn (1732-1809), Sonata No. 28 in A major, Op. 101 by Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827), and Sonata No. 7 in B-flat major, Op. 83 by Sergei Prokofiev (1891-1953). According to Palau de la Música, the latter is one of the most demanding pieces in the 20th-century piano repertoire, featuring a third movement of technical virtuosity.
