What this concert is celebrating
The Chameleons are commemorating the 40th anniversary of Script of the Bridge, their debut album released in 1983. Considered a landmark in post-punk, the record is renowned for its dreamy sound, introspective lyrics, and the blend of ethereal guitars with hypnotic rhythms. Formed in Middleton (UK) in 1981, the band influenced generations of alternative music with tracks like Second Skin and Up the Down Escalator. For this concert, original members Mark Burgess (vocals and bass) and Reg Smithies (guitar) will perform the album in full, alongside other classics from their discography.
