What is the Sedajazz Happy Band
The Sedajazz Happy Band is a children’s band from the Sedajazz workshop, featuring 7 to 13-year-olds performing arrangements of jazz, reggae, ska and soul classics. According to La Rambleta, the project was created by the Colectivo de Músicos to foster a love of music from an early age, blending learning and enjoyment. Their repertoire includes improvisation and versions of historic tracks, adapted to showcase the young musicians’ talent.
Who’s performing
The band consists of 20 children playing instruments such as alto, tenor and baritone sax, trumpet, trombone, piano, bass, drums and percussion. The group is led by Fco. Blanco Latino, with standout performers including Lilit Soria (tenor sax and flute) and Pepa Todó (trumpet). The band has released three albums: Sedajazz Happy Band (2018), Trencaclosques (2023, nominated for the Premis Carles Santos) and I Feel Good (2024).
