Lohengrin under the microscope of Ramon Gener
On 3 December 2026, the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía will host a lecture by Ramon Gener dedicated to Lohengrin, one of the most influential operas by Richard Wagner. The event, scheduled for 7:30 PM in the Aula Magistral, is part of the 2026-2027 season’s outreach programme and is free to attend.
Ramon Gener, renowned for his work as a music educator in programmes such as This Is Opera and Ópera en texans, will reveal the most relevant aspects of this work, which premiered in 1850. Lohengrin, based on medieval legends, stands out for its innovative music, its plot full of symbolism, and characters like the mysterious Swan Knight. The lecture will cover the opera’s historical context, its narrative structure, and its impact on the Wagnerian repertoire.

This session is part of Les Arts’ Puertas Abiertas programme, an initiative that aims to bring opera to new audiences without economic barriers.
