What is Rain Dogs and who is being honoured
Rain Dogs is a musical project that recreates the work of Tom Waits, the American singer, songwriter and actor known for his gravelly voice, poetic lyrics and fusion of blues, jazz, rock and cabaret. The concert on 20 November at La Batisfera revisits some of his most recognisable tracks, such as «Rain Dogs», «Jersey Girl» and «Downtown Train», with arrangements true to the raw, theatrical spirit of the original.
Who is performing
The quartet consists of:
- Kevin Connolly: vocals, acoustic guitar and piano.
- Maja Burton: vocals, saxophone and percussion.
- Jack Burton: vocals and electric guitar.
- Ricardo Osorno: double bass.
According to the organisers, the group aims to capture Waits’ "unkempt and emotive" essence, blending his narrative style with live energy.
