La Rossa bookshop in Valencia hosts the presentation of «L'estiu que vaig matar mon pare», a novel by Raquel Ricart, who will discuss her work with Carme Manuel on 12 November 2026. The event is part of #LlibreriesFest and is aimed at readers of Valencian narrative and fans of the author.

What is being presented

«L'estiu que vaig matar mon pare» is the novel by Raquel Ricart being presented at La Rossa bookshop on Murta Street in Valencia. The protagonist, writer Anna Argall, reconstructs her childhood and adolescence, shaped by a father passionate about medicine and with great personal magnetism, a reserved mother jealous of her space, and Ença, a necessary presence who helped with everything.

Ença’s death, an essential figure in Anna’s life, triggers a process of writing that, through fragmented memories, uncovers the family history throughout the 20th century: buried desires, secrets, and the weight of the Spanish Civil War. The story culminates in the summer when Anna dreams every night of killing her father, which gives the book its title.

Who is taking part

Raquel Ricart will present the novel alongside Carme Manuel, who will lead the conversation with the author. The event at La Rossa bookshop starts at 19:00.
