What’s being performed
Perico Sambeat and his quintet reimagine the most iconic tracks by Traffic, the British band led by Steve Winwood in the 1960s and 70s, through a jazz lens. The setlist includes pieces from albums like Mr. Fantasy, John Barleycorn Must Die, and The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys, featuring songs such as «Glad», «Empty Pages», and «John Barleycorn Must Die», all adapted to contemporary jazz language.
Who’s performing
The quintet is led by Perico Sambeat (alto sax, soprano sax, and flute), one of Spain’s most acclaimed jazz musicians. He is joined by Alberto Palau (piano and keyboards), Iván Cebrián (guitar), Miquel Álvarez (double bass and electric bass), and Tico Porcar (drums). According to the Jimmy Glass Jazz Bar schedule, the concert is a festival production.

The concert features a single 90-minute performance on Wednesday, 4 November 2026, at 20:30. Doors at Jimmy Glass open at 20:00. The 15th Valencia International Contemporary Jazz Festival runs from 7 October to 30 November, with nine concerts in total.
