What’s being performed
The concert "Paseos y miradas" from the Cambra al Palau (33) cycle presents a chamber music programme for brass quintet featuring works by five composers. The quintet Art of Brass València performs Johann Sebastian Bach’s Toccata and Fugue in D minor, Victor Ewald’s Brass Quintet No. 1, Op. 5, Paravent by Ingo Luis, the suite Canadian Portraits by Valencian composer Manuel Carrascosa —who also gives a pre-concert talk— and Enrique Crespo’s American Suite. The repertoire spans from Baroque to contemporary pieces written for this ensemble.

The quintet Art of Brass València is made up of Raúl Junquera and Ignacio Martínez (trumpets), Cristian Palau (horn), Rubén Toribio (trombone) and Miguel Vallés (tuba). Composer Manuel Carrascosa —author of the suite Canadian Portraits, which premieres at this concert— gives a pre-concert talk to contextualise the programme. According to the Palau de la Música, this session is part of the 33rd edition of the Cambra al Palau cycle, dedicated to chamber music.
