What’s on display
The exhibition «On hi ha comerç, hi ha barri» explores Russafa through La Russafera, its commerce association. The journey introduces the people behind the neighborhood’s businesses, the everyday objects they use, and the stories that, as the exhibition puts it, bring Russafa to life.
The starting point is that a neighborhood is more than its streets and buildings: it’s the people who live there and the places where they gather. The exhibition argues that local commerce doesn’t just boost the economy—it also creates bonds between neighbors, fills the streets with activity, and helps preserve Russafa’s identity and character.
How to participate
«On hi ha comerç, hi ha barri» offers a participatory experience where the public completes the story. Visitors can express their love for Russafa, reflect on the importance of keeping its commerce alive, and leave their memories, favorite spots, or wishes for the neighborhood through words or drawings.
The proposal is presented as a space to recognize what the neighborhood has, think about what should be preserved, and remember that neighborhoods are built by everyone who lives in them. Its motto sums it up: Russafa isn’t just lived—it’s made by all of us.
Who it’s for
The exhibition is aimed at Russafa residents, regular customers of its shops, and anyone interested in the role of small businesses in a Valencia neighborhood’s life. It can be visited at CC Nave3 Ribes on November 18, 2026.
