What’s being performed
Les caractères de la musique et la danse is a concert from the Cambra al Palau (17) series, merging Baroque music and dance. The programme features selections from operas and instrumental works by Jean-Philippe Rameau (Platée, Hyppolite et Aricie, Les Fêtes d'Hébé, Castor et Pollux, and Les Indes galantes) and the suite Les caractères de la danse by Jean-Féry Rebel. According to Palau de la Música, the performance aims to recreate the French Baroque aesthetic, where music and movement complement each other.
Who’s performing
The concert is conducted by Joan B. Boïls, leading LA DISPERSIONE, an ensemble specialising in historical music. Soprano Margarita Rodríguez performs the vocal arias, while dancer Eva Narejos—a Baroque dance specialist—executes the original 18th-century choreographies. The Cambra al Palau series is an initiative by Palau de la Música to showcase chamber and small-format repertoires.
