What’s being performed
«La Celestina» at Teatro Círculo is an adaptation of Tragicomedia de Calisto y Melibea where a minstrel takes on the role of Celestina, manipulating the characters with puppets and masks. According to the theatre’s programme, the play blends popular theatre techniques to depict desire, ambition, and the tragedy triggered by the matchmaker. This version avoids traditional dialogue, focusing instead on visual and gestural interpretation for an adult audience.
