A unique fusion of flamenco and ballet
Isabel Cantarero, a Valencian bailaora known artistically as Isa Bailoca, brings her show Amate to Teatre Talia, a stage production that blurs the boundaries between flamenco and classical dance. The performance is the result of years of research and creation around Puntacón, a registered technique that combines the precision of ballet pointe shoes with the power and rhythm of flamenco footwork. The footwear, designed by Cantarero herself, merges the ballet pointe with the flamenco heel, giving life to a unique step methodology.
The show
Amate is the first theatrical showcase of this innovative technique. On stage, Cantarero will be accompanied by the bailaoras María de Iguacel Sánchez, Aluminé Fiamma, Eugenia Morera and Neftalí Sánchez, all part of her company Puntacón. The show invites the audience to discover a new way of feeling dance, where the language of the soul is expressed through movements that unite two seemingly distant disciplines.
This is not a traditional flamenco show, but an artistic exploration that seeks to move and surprise. The choreography, also created by Cantarero, reflects her career as a dancer, designer, and choreographer, as well as her passion for breaking moulds.
