What Gestotopías proposes
Gestotopías: Encuentros de danza y reflexión is a documentary dance project investigating how the housing crisis transforms collective imagination. Through ethnographic, somatic, and performative methodologies, participants explore neighbourhood memories and experiment with new ways of inhabiting space. The activity is part of the research Gestotopías: On està la meua casa?, led by the collective La Repetidora, and aims to create a living archive of shared experiences.
How the public can participate
The series features two open sessions for audiences aged 18+, combining dance demonstrations, observation exercises, and collective creation dynamics. No prior experience is required: attendees actively contribute their perspectives and experiences. The approach is collaborative, fostering a space for critical and artistic reflection on the right to housing.
Access and requirements
Admission is free and no prior booking is needed. The event is exclusively for people aged 18 and over. Centre Cultural Escorxador, located in the Cabanyal-Canyamelar neighbourhood, hosts these sessions as part of its autumn cultural programme.
