What is performed
The concert Filia Musicae · Cambra al Palau (24) presents a programme dedicated to 17th-century Baroque female composers: Lucrezia Orsina Vizzana, Chiara Margarita Cozzolani, Isabella Leonarda and Rosa Giacinta Badalla. According to the Palau de la Música, the selected works—motets, arias and sacred pieces—stand out for their harmonic innovation and their role in the religious music of the period, mostly written for female voices and instrumental accompaniment.
Who performs
The Pergamo Ensemble, specialising in early music, performs the programme with period instruments. The line-up includes Elisabeth Hetherington (soprano), Guillermo Turina (Baroque cello) and Eva del Campo (harpsichord and organ). Hetherington, renowned for her work in Baroque repertoire, and Turina, a regular collaborator in European ensembles, lead a programme that revives forgotten female voices in music history.
