What the talk is about
Ficción Expandida con Claudia Costafreda is a session from the Charlas sobre Ficción Expandida cycle, led by writer and screenwriter David Pascual (Mr. Perfumme). The event explores how creators from different disciplines expand the notion of writing beyond text, using cinema, television, and screenwriting as narrative tools. The discussion focuses on the current challenges of the audiovisual industry, the impact of streaming on storytelling, and the search for a unique voice that resonates with a generation’s concerns.
Who is taking part
The main guest is Claudia Costafreda, a director and screenwriter with a recognised career in film and television. She is the co-creator and director of Cardo (2022), a series that won several Premios Feroz, and has worked on productions such as Veneno (2020), Superestar (2025), and Yo siempre a veces (2026). She is currently directing Crimen en España, the new Atresplayer series created by María Bastarós, which blends thriller, psychological terror, and metaphor.
The moderator is David Pascual, a writer and screenwriter known for novels like Gordo de porcelana and his work on series such as Els Borja (Ondas Award and Premi Sonor winner). He also teaches narrative at the Master’s in Creative Writing at the University of Valencia and at Barreira A+D.
