What will be performed
«Clàssica a la Cambra: Dixit Dominus» is a baroque music concert combining Georg Friedrich Händel’s Dixit Dominus, HWV 232—one of the genre’s masterpieces—with the world premiere of a work by Jacobo Christensen. The performance, designed as a dialogue between music, word, and emotion, features texts selected and recited by Marta Estal, the creator of the scenic concept. According to the organisers, the audience will «embrace the stage to experience Christmas through the beauty and transformative power of music».
Who is performing
The concert is performed by Nostrum Mare Camerata, an ensemble specialising in classical and baroque music, under the direction of Jacobo Christensen. The string orchestra will be accompanied by ten solo singers, though their names are not listed in the programme. On 29 December at 19:30, the musicians will give a free talk to explain the creative process and the key elements of Händel’s work.
Programme and duration
The programme consists of two parts:
- Premiere of a composition by Jacobo Christensen.
- Dixit Dominus, HWV 232 by Georg Friedrich Händel.
The concert’s duration is not specified, but the «Clàssica a la Cambra» cycle typically runs for 60–90 minutes without an interval. The event starts at 20:00.
