What is the Club de aguja Manolita del Arco
The Club de aguja Manolita del Arco is a gathering around textile crafts —knitting, crochet, embroidery and other techniques— held at the Municipal Cultural Centre CC Nave3 Ribes in Valencia. The proposal starts with a question: what if a needle and thread could also be tools of political resistance?
The session aims to create in company, share knowledge and learn from one another, so that while hands work, bonds, experiences and connections are also woven among attendees.
Who organises it
The Club de aguja Manolita del Arco is organised by Cercle Sàfic, which presents it as a space to strengthen networks through collective practice. Beyond the stitches, the club reclaims thread and weaving as means of expression and community building, encouraging the recovery of the political and collective value of crafts traditionally considered domestic.
Where it takes place
The event is held at CC Nave3 Ribes, a municipal cultural centre located in Parc Central, on Calle Filipinas. The building is a former railway warehouse built in 1917 by architect Demetrio Ribes and repurposed for cultural use, with a programme combining concerts, workshops and neighbourhood activities.
