What is the Carrera 10KFem
The Carrera 10KFem is a certified 10-kilometre athletic race exclusively for women, organised by Nosotras Deportistas since 2015. In its 13th edition, the event takes place on 21 February 2027 along Valencia’s Passeig de l'Albereda, between Pont del Real and Pont de l'Exposició. It is the only race of this distance in Spain reserved solely for female participants, with its route certified by the Spanish Athletics Federation.
Purpose and values
The 10KFem was created to promote women’s sport and highlight the role of women in athletics, from grassroots to elite levels. According to the organisers, the race aims to "encourage more women to take on decision-making roles in sport," aligning with celebrations for International Women’s Day. Though moved to 21 February in 2027, it retains its advocacy spirit and inclusive nature.
Participation and requirements
The race is open to women of all ages and abilities, from casual runners to experienced athletes. No minimum completion time is set, but prior training is recommended. The organisers provide free training plans on their official website for those preparing, whether beginners or runners aiming to improve their time.
Schedule and timing
The event runs from 9:00 to 13:00, with the start scheduled for 10:00. The estimated completion time for the fastest runners is 50 to 70 minutes, though there is no time limit to finish. The finish line is located at the same point as the start, along Passeig de l'Albereda.
Charitable initiative
In previous editions, the 10KFem has supported social causes. In 2026, the beneficiary was Red Aminata, an organisation working to end female genital mutilation. Registration includes the option to make a voluntary donation of €1 or €3 to the chosen cause.
